Born in
Royal Oak, I was raised in
Howell,
MI – but I don’t readily bring that up in Buckeye Country. During the
cross country season of my senior year of high school, I began experiencing severe
spasms in my lower back that were all but preventing me from finishing races.
My parents took me to the local chiropractor for an evaluation and my first
“symptom-based” adjustment, and I experienced complete relief after only two appointments.
This was the “turning point” that set me on the path to chiropractic.
From that moment on I knew the human body had the God-given power to heal
itself, if just given a nudge in the right direction - I didn't know much about
chiropractic at the time, but was determined to find out the scientific and philosophical
principles that supports the profession.
Upon completion of high school, I moved to
Albion,
MI, where I completed my undergraduate education at
Albion
College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Biology and Comparative
Anatomy and a minor in Psychology.
In the fall of 2002, and just a few months after
graduation, I married my high school sweetheart, Keren.
At this point, I knew I wanted to pursue my passion for healthier living and natural
wellness, as well as my desire to help others. So we packed our bags and moved
to
Davenport,
Iowa so that I could begin the Doctorate of Chiropractic program at Palmer College
of Chiropractic. The next four years were spent studying anatomy, physiology,
biomechanics, chemistry, and neurology. And as exciting as it
was, it all paled in comparison to the excitement we had when we found out that
our family would soon be growing to three! Our son, Jack, was
born in June of 2006. Shortly thereafter, I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic
degree from Palmer.
Not long after graduation, we found opportunity at Hilltop Wellness & Chiropractic.
It seemed like a perfect fit! We settled into the community
quickly by finding a local church – Hillcrest Baptist, right across the street.
This is where we have made our home and continue to grow our Hilltop Family
business - helping people in this area find relief and true health through chiropractic
care and showing them the benefits of preventive wellness care is something that
I am proud to do and look forward to doing for many years to come.
